Feriehus i Pérouges

"Being right in the middle of this medieval town for a few days was very relaxing. Everyone in the town was very kind and the nearby town Meximieux with more shops and restaurants is only a short walk away and very pleasant."

"For first timers in a car, parking can be hard to understand. A few hundred meters before you reach the first buildings of Perouges there are two boom gates to a car park in the woods. This is convenient for parking after you have dropped your bags off at Maison Perouges. To first reach the house, stay on the sealed road, turn left at the entrance to the town and drive slowly up to and through the old gate into the town. There are signs saying pedestrians only but cars can go in carefully to drop things off. Go left or right around the cobble stone Rue de Ronde to drop your bags off at the house. Then drive back out of the town and down the one way road towards Meximieux, turn right at the T intersection at the bottom, drive back up the hill, turn left near the top, and you will soon arrive again at the double boom gate car park. Both boom gates open automatically. The car park is a long road in the woods. Park a hundred metres or so down the road near a path on the left that leads up a grassy slope and then to the entrance to the town. You will need to pay a small fixed fee at the machine when you leave through the boom gates at the bottom of the road."
