Breakfast was included in the price and it was always absolutely delicious — thanks to them, I had the chance to try several traditional Sri Lankan dishes I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. The place is located a bit farther from the main areas, so you’ll need to walk a few kilometers, take a tuk-tuk, or have your own vehicle. However, there is a small convenience shop right next to the accommodation, which is handy if you need anything. If you’re sensitive to noise at night, it might be an issue — though that’s quite common for most hostels and village houses in Sri Lanka.

"The garden is amazing! We stayed there in early October and the trees’ colors were stunning. Huge congrats to the gardeners! Also the breakfast was great with many tasty local products."

The houses are well equiped and designed, however in some cases design is over function f.ex.: living room area cannot be fully covered by blackout curtain and throught the non-covered part people can exactly see the ones stepping out from the bathroom. Light and odor extraction system is automatically switches on, even in the night and also when you pass by the toilet (no need to step in). There is no towel rack in the bathroom, no bedside table next to the bed. TV is literally cannot be used in the bedroom as there is only HDMI possibility or Austrian tv channels, not even Hungarian ones (DUNA Tv and M2 only). Netflix can be used only in the living room. There are too many small, but even more annoying, minor flaws, which is a real shame because the place itself is beautiful.

There is only one power socket in the sleeping room, and it does not work (well) as the holes are too loose to uphold any charging device. A multi-socket cable connected to a repaired socket would be appreciated. In the kitchenette, there is some coffee and tea provided, much appreciated. Oddly, there is no sugar but salt. Sugar would be more useful than salt.

"The apartment welcomes us in a sparkling clean condition with all the home equipment that we need. It has a private car park with security, we felt safe around the neighbourhood. It is worth mentioning that the apartment is located in a very convenient neighbourhood. Will surely recommend!"

La sig.ra Gina incarna l'ospitalità e l'accoglienza che ogni ospite desidera ricevere; empatica e mai invadente, generosa nel donarsi, attenta e cordiale. Camere, ambienti comuni interni e giardino sono molto curati, la pulizia impeccabile. Io sono vegana e a colazione mi sono sentita più che accolta. "Perfect location for visiting petra, the host is a very nice gentleman, he gave us a good tour through the apartment and explained everything necessary. It can be a bit cold in the winter but the portable heaters will make up for that. Its a large place."

"Lovely location and grounds. Pedro was friendly and gave us great advice for where to eat. The facilities were just what we needed. Secure parking. Lucky the dog was lovely too!"

The one thing that was missing was a sharp knife to peel oranges.

"Getting keys from the wall safe was easy. The place itself was lovely and quiet. Comfortable beds. Good heating. Nice small kitchen. Two bathrooms, one en-suite. Cosy living room. Good range of channels on the TV. Plus you are only a 10 minute walk from the Minster and old town, and only 20 minutes walk from the train station."

"What a great surprise this find is, staying with a local community and eating the traditional food ,only 25mins walk to a private beach and 10min walk to the ash fields . Here the rumble of the mountain like its a distant thunder storm. The kids will show you around with great enthusiasm. And all being close to the volcano and hot springs and the hosts will arrange any other activities and transports needed , This is the real deal don't miss out . Ps look after Max well we will return ."

Genuine village stay

"Exceptionnel !! Franchement rien à dire du côté de l'appartement. Tout était propre, le linge de lit, les serviettes. Un grand bravo. On a pu profiter du balcon pour le petit déjeuner, vraiment super!! 👍"

Seul petit bémol, pas du tout de commerce à proximité. Et si en plus vous n'êtes pas véhiculé sachez qu'il n'y a pas de bus en bas de la résidence où même quelques pas plus loin. Pour le premier jour, le papa du propriétaire qui était véhiculé nous a emmener jusqu'à une supérette. Un grand merci pour ce Monsieur. Qu'Allah le récompense pour son aide si précieuse. Le deuxième jour, pour le pain et viennoiseries, j'ai pris mon courage à deux mains. Heureusement, je suis une bonne randonneuse ce qui.n'est pas le cas de ma fille qui est restée bien tranquillement à m'attendre. La veinarde !! Malgré ce petit inconvénient, j'ai passé un excellent séjour dans cet appartement que je RECOMMANDE VIVEMENT pour les marcheurs.

"Llegamos con las indicaciones pero no teniamos red para pedir o avisar por las llaves. Justo vi los datos en el mail y en la puerta del dpto pude conectarme a wi fi y nos contactamos con el anfitrion. Todo excelente !!!"

Nos quedamos sin agua caliente, el 4to día. Esperabamos un resarcimiento. Si bien dijimos que no habia problemas, no era el servicio que habiamos contratado.
