"The caretaker was smelling alcohol and seemed to be drinking a lot during his work time. The mosquito nets, curtains and carpets in the house were not clean and smelled dust."

"The location is great, i liked the antique furniture in the lounge. The brakefast was very nice, large variety of fruits. Transport to the airport was organised and the driver came on time even earlier."

"The breakfast room was not set for every guest to take place. A big table (for 6 pax) was occupied by 2 guests only and the staff didnt arrange to make space and set for one more person."

"The chef was world class. Every dish was excellent. The entire staff was wonderful. My friend and I stayed three nights and the staff learned our names, reached out to us to see when we would be at meals, escorted us to our room after dark, etc. The room was beautiful. The property was beautiful. In short, I would return to Tanzania just to stay at this lodge."

"Utupoa was the best choice for the second 6 days of our stay in Zanzibar, it exceeded all our expectations. The location is perfect, quiet, right on the beach, on a great stretch of beach. The atmosphere of the building itself and the common areas is breathtaking, there is something interesting to see on every square centimeter, it gives a very special experience. Our room was clean and spacious. The food is excellent, and the shared dinners create opportunities to connect with others. I will never forget the kindness of Joyce and Maria, their positive attitude towards people left a deep impression on me. The staff is outstanding. They are kind, helpful in everything. We are grateful for the time we spent there, it was wonderful. I would like to return to this enchanted place one day."

"This is the perfect holiday destination. William and his team are fantastic. The bungalow is cosy, with a hammock to relax. The restaurant and menu each evening is absolutely delicious. We liked the cocktails, and you must try the fish fingers for lunch. The diving activities associated with the hotel are top notch. Big thanks to Amin especially for the whale shark expert tour. I highly recommend this place!"

The value for money is excellent; what you get truly exceeds expectations. A note for anyone packing: be sure to bring a mosquito fumigator with you. There is nowhere to buy one nearby, and there are quite a lot of them. The restaurant at the hotel is delicious, and the entire team works very hard to make guests feel comfortable.
