Bucerias Beach House

"Location on the beach and courtyard pool were both really nice . Only 4 rental suites so pool felt quite private. We stayed in the studio suite and enjoyed private time on large deck facing the ocean. Great having a full kitchen which we used for breakfast and some lunches. Hosts were very friendly and helpful."

"Lighting at night was usually off so had trouble seeing when returning home and inserting key in door."

"Location, location, location. The house is right on the beach, and a short walk to restaurants, art galleries and small stores. We enjoyed being this close to the beach, and listening to the waves at night. You are renting part of a private home, not an all-inclusive resort. The room/property photos are accurate. Pepe and Emma are exceptionally nice, give good local advice, and know where to get things. They try very hard to make sure guests have a great time. The room and pool were clean, the staff helpful, and the whales performed!!"

"The house is Pepe and Emma’s family home so you feel like you are home. They great you with a margarita and go over every detail of the place. Your room has every amenity you could possibly need. The patios and pool area is beautiful and relaxing. Everything is gated so there is no reason to be afraid but I never saw anything to be afraid of. The location is amazing. You can walk everywhere and there are good restaurants close by. It’s easy to get your bearings quickly. If you need any help at all just ask Pepe!"

"Only one thing, my shower was a little short on water pressure and took while to get hot, but I was on the second level and it had a ways to travel."

"The hosts, Pepe and Emma, were welcoming, friendly, and down-to-earth people. Pepe made made me one of the best margaritas I had my entire time in MX. They even provided phone numbers in case they needed to be contacted - and not just for issues relating to their property. They really made you feel at home. The secure wifi worked fine (although I still used vpn while there). The location, as far as I was concerned, was perfect. It had everything I wanted - beachfront, close to bars, restaurants, shopping, and with lots of local flavor - arts, music. Everything was very walk-able or just a short taxi away. My room and all the common areas were clean. The bed was comfortable. As my stay was short, I really didn't do any cooking but the kitchen was well provisioned with cooking and serving implements and plenty of tableware. There were plenty of towels and such in the bathroom. I'd stay again in a heartbeat."

"You shouldn't really take most of this as "negative" but you should understand that this beach house is an older Mexican facility and is small. It isn't a luxury resort with room service and huge pools and resort amenities - but you know what? That's not what I was looking for. It could use a few updates here and there but nothing that would every stop me from returning - the hospitality and location alone are exceptional. This is a taste of Mexico that I fear is on its way out due to condominium building taking place all over that area. After leaving the Bucerias Beach House, I met family for another week at one of those mega resorts close by. As beautiful and well-kept as it was, with all the amenities anyone could want, it's not what I preferred. If that's the vacation experience you want, then go to one of those. But if you want a warm, comfortable, easy living, down-sized experience, with no pretense and a real flavor of local culture, then this is they type of place you want."
