"El lugar en si es bastante placentero, sin ruido de carros, rodeado de árboles y la cabaña es una belleza, muy limpia, amplia, cómoda, con absolutamente lo necesario para pasar un fin de semana bastante relajado. La persona que nos estuvo monitoreando por teléfono, muy amable y atenta, muy servicial en todo momento. RECOMENDADISIMO"

"Very well situated , our room was spacious , nice balcony and a view of the river. Resteraunt on site was very nice and staff friendly and helpful."

Toilet was not flushing properly , but not much of a problem.

"If you are looking for an exceptional place to stay on the Coromandel peninsula, this is it. The Lodge is quite large with everything you could need: kitchenette, couch and TV, comfy bed, large bathroom (tub + huge shower), terrace and the a spectacular view of Whitianga! As you would expect, it was very quiet, and the layout is such that, that you can enjoy total privacy. Carol and Warren were very welcoming and we had a nice chat every morning with Warren as he brought us a lovely breakfast. The road up the lodge is fairly steep but it wasn't an issue at all, so if you have a decent car I wouldn't worry about it. While in our particular case, we didn't have the best weather throughout the stay, we appreciated that the lodge is furnished so as to feel like home, which made for a cozy day in. I could tell that there was a lot of thought put into the furnishing and decorating of the lodge!"

"Great location and generously sized apartment. beds and linen all good. Nespresso machine and pods a nice touch."

Some of the appliances are tired and therefore unreliable and need updating . The internal phones dont work so if there is a problem you have to call the reception in a building down the hill on your cell which if you are from abroad is an expensive exercise.

"It was like staying at someone’s home. V good, helpful staff and bed was v comfortable. The food was surprisingly decent for such a small place. Picturesque location even though snow was sparse at the time"

Only gripe might be that the air was quite dry, making sleep quality not so good: might be because of it being a wooden bldg

"Comfy bed, mosquito net, breakfast, prime support from host, water refill, close to national park, peacefully quiet , good food and also in the neighbourhood - what else would you want more… Loved it"

"Lovingly furnished, clean accommodation in a family atmosphere with hospitable landlords, good sanitary standards and air conditioning, cozy terrace, very good and plentiful breakfast with fruit and local side dishes, option for dinner with excellent Sri Lankan cuisine which we thoroughly enjoyed. "We just had a 3 night stay here. The cottage is very unique - little rustic with a lot of character . We enjoyed the full kitchen and were able to cook great meals and enjoyed eating outside on the large wrap around deck. You feel like you’re in a treehouse and very secluded. Yet you’re very close to the beach and town. We loved the big spacious bathroom and having hot water was a bonus! Jac-Luc was a great host and communicated well ensuring we were comfortable and had what we needed. We felt it was great value for money and would recommend and we’d stay again."

"Beautiful surroundings, so calm. The host is incredibly helpful and kind. This refuge is his personal project, and you can see his passion. The surrounding villages are small but lovely to walk through. There are nice hikes possible, including to the peak of Mount Agou, the people on the paths will kindly guide you to your destination. They are truly kind."

The location on the map is slightly off, ask for a pin before you arrive to make sure you find the right place!

"Quiet, green, uncomformist to the Italian onslaught in the rest of Watamu, wel kept, and very kind personel. Plus great breakfast."

The fans could use an update.

"The mountains scenery and the serenity of the place make Le massif de Laqlouq an ideal getaway. During our stay, we felt we are well taken care of; the staff was constantly checking upon us and assisting us with any request."
