"We wanted to stay in a traditional Hanok and were very happy at the Hanok1957. A small oasis between more or less typical (uninteresting) city buildings. We found all we were looking for: From a calm garden you can enter your rooms (with bathrooms) and you can even use a kitchen room. Of course, every guest has to be quiet, as the walls are thin, and you are sleeping on the floor, but on (thin) mattresses (so no problem at all). From Hanok1957 you can reach Daegu center with shops and restaurants by foot, a night market is close (Seomun) and a bus stop is nearby as is a really excellent bakery. And the staff was very kind and helpful. Simply a great hanok stay."

"Such a lovely place: beautiful little garden, cozy room, tidy common kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was also nice and spacious."

"I thought the travelers staying in a hanok would want to live quietly and enjoy the serene atmosphere. Quite on the contrary there were young people watching tv until 2 am. The walls are very thin. Perhaps you could remind everyone to really stay quiet after 23 o'clock?"

"Only a 5 minute walk from Seomun Traditional Market and bus stops only 300m away from Hanok. Buses can take you into the heart of the city or to other tourist locations you may want to explore. The Seomun Market also has a night market with lots of food stalls open, and a lovely vibe. The staff at the Hanok always responded to queries quickly and were very friendly. The bed is traditional Korean futon, so we found it a bit hard, but it's all part of the experience."

"Only thing we could fault was the futon bed. But, that's all part of the traditional hanok experience. If you don't like hard beds or sleeping on the floor, then don't stay in a hanok."
