Less than 5 minutes' walk from the dock, Hotel Poseidon is in Lipari centre. The family-run hotel is set in an ancient villa on the largest of the Aeolian Islands. Decorated in an Aeolian style, rooms here are air conditioned and many have a balcony or patio. They all come with a flat-screen TV, fridge and bathroom with hairdryer. The Poseidon Hotel has free Wi-Fi in public areas. A buffet breakfast is served each morning and features mainly sweet food with some savoury items. "To start with, the location is not only excellent (right in the middle of historical Viterbo, walking distance to most things), but you also have parking inside (and space for normal-sized cars too), which can be a life saver when travelling by car. Nice (and very clean) room, and for a very reasonable price (have been to city accommodations half as good for twice the price). Also provided disposable indoor slippers, which is instantly a +1. Lastly, can mention that the owner also has a nearby restaurant (c. 2min walk), called La Chimera, which I can strongly recommend. I do not normally give 10/10 unless very deserving, i.e. going above and beyond, but this place deserves it."
