"We enjoyed our stay at Sofia Hotel. We used it when we arrived at Heraklion airport and also before we left. The staff are very friendly and helpful, it's very close to the airport but also close to a lot of shops and restaurants. The rooms are not plush, but clean and functional. Our room also had a balcony, which was nice. I'd have hesitation in staying here again, and in fact we sent some friends to stay here and they liked it too."

In a time when aesthetics is fast becoming the main drive of hospitality, Hotel Sofia still knows what is really important and that's the guest service provided. The reception with their capability, local knowledge and willingness to help out a guest family in a tight spot is the gold standard of good service. Some say hospitality is an art, if so, they are a staff of artists. Thank you for an excellent stay and see you next year!"

"Really convenient for the airport. I contacted the property because I was arriving late - had a prompt and friendly reply informing me that not a problem. When I arrived the bar was still open (just) - wonderful, friendly lady serving drinks. Really chatty with an obvious pride in Crete. Safe and secure site for solo female traveller. Taxi was arranged for me the following morning."
