Dating back over 800 years, the atmospheric Stiftung Kartause Ittingen is a former Charterhouse monastery located in Warth. This unique place features a labyrinth garden, a private dairy and a spisesal. Kartause Ittingen’s extensive grounds also contain the dairy that produces 6 different types of cheese, yoghurt, butter and cream. All of these can be tasted in the modern brasserie located within the historic walls. The monastery also produces its own wine. The modern rooms retain the monastic sense of simplicity and feature a bathroom, a TV and free wired internet. Many of them also offer a balcony overlooking the private park. The Art Museum of the Canton of Thurgau and the Ittinger Museum are both located in the same building. Guests can go hiking and jogging in the large gardens and parks. There is also a possibility to play the garden chess game.

"Kartause Ittingen is a truly special place. The old monastery site has a cluster of beautiful buildings, lovely grounds and is perched high on the valley side such that there are fantastic views all day long. I walked up the steep hillside vineyards one morning and it was magical. The breakfast and evening meals were healthy, with lots of variety and high quality. The room was minimalistic, with clean lines, gorgeous furnishings and beautiful materials (lots of natural wood). Also loved that they had a book on steps to reduce your environmental footprint in each room. Hats off, Kartause Ittingen!"

"Rolig område. Kort vei til offentlig transport og butikk hvor du får tak i det du trenger. Flotte parker i gangavstand i tillegg til badeanlegg med strand. Leiligheten inneholder det du trenger og er praktisk innrettet. Pluss med vifte når det ikke er aircondition og hetebølgen feier over Zürich."
